The Virginia Association of Addiction Professionals (VAAP) has board members and officers who are dedicated to representing the association with the utmost professionalism, working as volunteers to further the addiction field ethically, honestly, and purposefully. Board members are VAAP and NAADAC individual members in good standing who are also working in the field of recovery advocacy, addiction counseling, addiction leadership, administration, social work, military addiction treatment, residential treatment, and outpatient treatment.

The VAAP Board of Directors includes the Executive Committee, up to nine (9) Delegates, and one Student Member. The Executive Committee of the Association consists of a President, Immediate Past-President, President-Elect, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, and when possible, Regional Vice Presidents. All board members are elected officials, elected yearly at the annual meeting when their terms are up. Our VAAP board works tirelessly to effectively run the association, providing both the work and oversight needed to provide our membership with trainings, opportunities to connect and network, and advocacy efforts both in the Commonwealth on hill day and through the year, and in DC with NAADAC, the mid-Atlantic region, and National Hill Day every year. The VAAP Board of Directors has over 300 years of combined experience and knowledge to help lead the way for addiction professionals across the Virginia Commonwealth.
